Chaldean Press conducted an exclusive interview with Mark Savaya, who has been appointed the first U.S. Special Envoy to Iraq. Savaya, a proud Chaldean born in Iraq, was named to the post on his 40th birthday by President Donald J. Trump.

Reflecting on the last four decades, Savaya noted the immense suffering Iraq has endured and said his work is focused squarely on the Iraqi people. “I want to make Iraq great again,” U.S. Special Envoy Savaya told Chaldean Press.

Savaya said his goal is to deliver peace and stability by fostering a stronger bridge between the United States and Iraq. He expressed optimism about the country’s trajectory, adding that “Iraq is getting better each day, with no limits to its potential.”

Chaldean Press will continue to report on Savaya’s efforts and developments related to his work as Special Envoy.
